Arden-Arcade

Lying northeast of Downtown Sacramento, Arden-Arcade comprises dozens of neighborhoods that vary dramatically in socioeconomic makeup. From million-dollar homes to simple apartment blocks, Arden-Arcade is almost a visual representation of historical inequities. Black families continue to rely on their own grassroots initiatives to meet the challenges brought by unemployment and poverty.

Our Community Incubator Lead (CIL)Mutual Assistance Network

Mutual Assistance Network (MAN) has a mission to advance social and economic prospects so that families in Sacramento can thrive. Their approach is to create local opportunities for resident-driven growth and change. By working with families on every level—from securing safe, sustainable homes all the way up to community engagement—MAN strengthens the existing social and economic infrastructure of Arden-Arcade and the surrounding Northern Sacramento neighborhoods.
