The Black Child Legacy Campaign (BCLC) is expanding—and Rancho Cordova is next. This Sacramento County neighborhood has demonstrated some of the highest rates of disparity in African American child deaths, making it a critical focus for our movement to ensure every child grows up safe, healthy and with equal opportunity to thrive.
Since 2015, BCLC has partnered with seven Community Incubator Leads in neighborhoods most impacted by these disparities. These organizations have worked tirelessly to implement community-driven solutions that save lives and strengthen families. Now, we’re seeking a dedicated community-based organization in Rancho Cordova to become the eighth Community Incubator Lead site and help drive change where it’s needed most.
The selected organization will receive up to $100,000 over six months (January–June 2026) to lead local efforts. This includes coordinating trauma-informed care, supporting Cultural Brokers and Crisis Intervention Workers, convening stakeholders and managing programs aligned with BCLC’s mission.
Eligibility Snapshot:
- Must be a 501(c)(3) or Tribal organization based in Rancho Cordova
- Proven history of serving African American families
- Minimum of three full-time staff providing direct services
