The Kings and Queens Rise Co-Ed Youth Sports and Mentoring League provides an opportunity for young people to engage in intercommunity sports activities. The league provides youth with a sense of community and a fun, meaningful summer full of learning experiences and memories.

Black Child Legacy Campaign youth are invited to participate in the “High School Bioskills Workshop” hosted by Nth Dimensions. This event is sponsored by The Center at Sierra Health Foundation’s Black Child Legacy Campaign and My Brother’s Keeper Sacramento and will be held on Friday, March 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sacramento Youth Center. This event is designed to expose Black students to careers in the medical field through an evening of interactive workshops with Black doctors and other youth. The Black Parallel School Board will host the Sacramento Unified School District Black Parent Involvement Day on Feb. 21. Parents will have an opportunity to meet teachers, observe classes, learn about what their scholars need to succeed and participate in Black History Month. Join the community at William Land Park for Sacramento’s 19th Annual Juneteenth Festival! The “Gospel Under the Stars” concert will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday’s events from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. include live entertainment, health and wellness tables, a talent show, food vendors, and an arts and education pavilion. Kings and Queens Rise provides young people opportunities to engage in intercommunity activities, which help prevent and interrupt violence. The program offers a caring and safe environment where mentors teach community building and sportsmanship. Part of the Sacramento Kings Jr. Kings program, the eight-week basketball season will tip-off on June 25 and run until August 13.
